I have lots of gateways loaded up on a fairly decent spec box with a lot of database logging. We have hyper-threading enabled…is that a good thing, does anyone have any experience either way on this? Thanks

I’ve never measured it as such, but I always get that feeling that HT is only for edge cases where the workload is divided between floating and integer ops (or at least that’s my recollection of HT in the early days).

For general purpose server loads with lots of IO I am not sure if it may even make things worse. Would be interesting to find out though.
